What should we wear?
-
When choosing outfits for you and your family, I recommend coordinating outfits instead of matching outfits. Sticking to a similar color palette is a great starting point – with those colors coming from a soft patterned shirt or dress. Color palettes to choose from are earthy, warm-toned colors, and neutrals with one pop of a bold color to compliment the autumn colors (for example girl's dress, mom’s shoes, dad’s ties, boy's socks). When implementing patterns, one pattern is recommended for one person while the rest wear solid colors. You can incorporate layers to your outfits which will add depth and texture to your images. Please stay away from neon colors.

Is there a place to change?
-
Yes. I have a changing area in my studio for you to change into your outfit if needed.
-
Why drive to Augusta?
-
Augusta is a small, friendly town and is known as the home of Bushes Beans and the Dells Mill Museum, which is locate 0.3 miles from the studio. The Dells Mill is owned and operated by an Amish family. The Dells Mill area is one of the most photographed areas in Eau Claire County with many photo enthusiasts in the fall when the leaves are at their peak colors. If you like Amish made furniture or home decor, you can shop at the Wood Shed in downtown Augusta. While in downtown Augusta, you can grab a coffee and homemade dog treats from Nick's Dog Treats & Cafe.

What is a session like?
-
A session at Angi Randall Photography is simple and laid back. Once you have paid the session retainer fee, I will get a few details from you to guide me in capturing your and your family and create lasting memories that you will cherish for a lifetime. I will guide you and your family in choosing your outfits to posing to the delivery of your portrait order. I want your experience to be as stress free as possible so you don't have to worry about a thing.

What if my kids don't cooperate?
-
If your kids aren't cooperating during a photoshoot, I just embrace the chaos. Kids will be kids. Every child is different which makes each session unique. If a child is just over it and having a meltdown...we will take a break, and focus on capturing natural moments rather than forcing perfect poses. So, don't worry about your child not cooperating. Often times, chaos helps create some amazing and memorable images.
Everything You Need to Know About Your Fall Family Photo Session
Fall is truly one of the best seasons to schedule your family photo session. The warm, golden colors of autumn create a naturally beautiful backdrop, giving your portraits a cozy and timeless look. The crisp weather is perfect, not too hot, not too cold, making it easy for your family to relax and simply enjoy the experience together. Plus, fall fashion adds so much character to your images; think sweaters, scarves, boots, and layers that bring depth and texture without ever going out of style.
Fall Into Memories—You’ll Love a Family Photo Session This Season
A fall session comes at the perfect time, right before the holiday season begins, so you’ll have fresh images for cards, gifts, and keepsakes. Most importantly, it’s about pressing pause in your busy lives and capturing your family exactly as you are right now, because kids grow quickly and these moments are too precious to miss.
During your session we will either meet in the comfort of my studio or at an outdoor location where the autumn colors shine. The session begins with a few classic portraits of everyone together before moving into more candid moments. I’ll guide you with easy prompts that help your family interact naturally—walking under the colorful trees, tossing leaves with the kids, or snuggling under a blanket for some cozy shots. These moments are more than just beautiful pictures, they're about celebrating your family and creating memories you’ll treasure forever.
Preparation is key to ensuring a successful Fall Family photo session. Here are a few tips to make the process smooth and enjoyable:
Choosing Outfits
Selecting the right outfits can significantly impact the final results of your family portraits. Coordination is essential; matching or complementary colors can create a cohesive look. It is also essential to consider comfort. Choose outfits that allow freedom of movement, especially for little ones who might want to be playful during the session.
Setting Expectations
Before the session, discuss it together with your family to set expectations. Explain what will happen, keeping it playful and exciting. With little children, you can even involve them in choosing poses or activities for the photoshoot, making it a fun experience. The more comfortable and excited everyone is, the more relaxed the session will be.
Embrace the Weather
Fall can be crisp and breezy, so dress in layers that can keep you warm without looking bulky. A cozy blanket can double as a prop and keep you comfortable.
Treat Yourself (or someone you love) to Fall Family Portraits
Fall Family photo sessions are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the beauty of your family in this season. They are a unique way to document the love and connection you share together. With the option of either outdoor or studio sessions, your family can capture stunning portraits that you'll treasure for years to come.
