I’m a proud mom of two amazing young adults — and this year is a big milestone: both of my kids will be in college. Honestly, I’m still wrapping my head around it! I’m also a wife to my husband, Jerome, and we’ve been happily married for nearly 22 years.
When I’m not in the studio capturing portraits, you’ll often find me biking, hiking, walking, crocheting or knitting, spending time with family and friends, and traveling the country by car (I’ll take a good road trip over flying any day). I’m a beach girl at heart — give me the ocean breeze, sand between my toes, and I’m in my happy place. Bonfires, great music, and quiet moments with the people I love is my idea of perfection.
I also truly enjoy meeting new people, even though I think I’m a little socially awkward at times. I’m really just more of a listener than a talker, but when I’m alone in the car, you can bet the music is cranked up and I’m singing at the top of my lungs…lol!
My career in photography began at Sharp Photo and Portraits, where I developed both film and digital images. I would often have portraits of my own kids on the counters as displays for matte and glossy paper, which caught the eye of a local photographer who encouraged me to pursue this path. That was over 15 years ago, and I’ve been growing and learning ever since — attending in-person workshops, online retreats, and earning my accreditation as a Qualified Newborn Photographer through APNPI. While there are no official regulations for newborn safety, it was important to me to earn this qualification as newborn safety is my number one priority.
Today, I specialize in newborn, maternity, and family portrait photography, with my work often being described as colorful, simple, and detail-rich. Many of my clients call me the “baby whisperer” — and some have even joked about taking me home to soothe their little ones!
I want my clients to have beautiful, lasting artwork that tells the story of their life — pieces they can cherish for years to come. If you’re ready to capture your family’s story, I’d be honored to help.
