What should we wear?

When choosing outfits for you and your child(ren), I recommend coordinating outfits instead of matching outfits. Sticking to a similar color palette is a great starting point – with those colors coming from a patterned shirt or dress. Color palettes to choose from are soft pastel colors, neutrals with one pop of a bold color (girls’ dress, mom’s shoes, and boy’s ties/socks?), fun bold colors.  When implementing patterns, one pattern is recommended for one person while the rest wear solid colors.  You can incorporate layers to your outfits which will add depth and texture to your images.  Please stay away from neon colors.

Is there a place to change?

Yes.  I have a changing area in my studio for you to change into your outfit if needed.

Why drive to Augusta?

Augusta is a small, friendly town and is known as the home of Bushes Beans and the Dells Mill Museum, which is locate .3 miles from the studio. The Dells Mill is owned and operated by an Amish family.  The Dells Mill area is one of the most photographed areas in Eau Claire County with many photo enthusiasts in the fall when the leaves are at their peak colors.  If you like Amish made furniture or home decor, you can shop at the Wood Shed in downtown Augusta.  While in downtown Augusta, you can grab a coffee and homemade dog treats from Nick's Dog Treats & Cafe.

What is a session like?

A session at Angi Randall Photography is simple and laid back.  Once you have paid the session fee, I will get a few details from you to guide me in capturing you and your family so we can create lasting memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.  I will guide you and your family in choosing your outfits to posing and the delivery of your portrait order.  I want your experience to be as stress free as possible so you don't have to worry about a thing.

What if my kids don't cooperate?

If your kids aren't cooperating during a photoshoot, I just embrace the chaos.  Kids will be kids.  Every child is different which makes each session unique.  If a child is just over it and having a meltdown...we will take a break, and focus on capturing natural moments rather than forcing perfect poses.  So, don't worry about your child not cooperating.  Often times, chaos helps create some amazing and memorable images.

Everything You Need to Know About Mothers Day Portrait Sessions

Mother's Day is a special occasion dedicated to expressing love and appreciation for the incredible mothers in our lives. One of the most delightful ways to commemorate this day is through Mother’s Day mini photo sessions. These sessions not only serve as a tribute to the bond between mothers and their children but also create lasting memories, especially with memorable mommy and me photos.

The Magic of Mommy and Me Portraits

Mommy and me portraits are more than just photographs; they encapsulate the joy, laughter, and love shared between a mother and her child. These intimate portraits provide a snapshot of precious moments that can often go unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A Mother's Day mini photo session is an excellent opportunity to capture these sentiments in a structured yet relaxed environment.

During these sessions, mothers and children can engage in activities they love, ensuring that the images reflect their genuine interactions. Whether it's sharing a laugh, cuddling, or even reading a book together, these moments can create stunning and heartwarming images that will be cherished for years to come.

Why Choose a Sessions for Mother’s Day?

Mom's are often the one's that are behind the camera/iphone taking the images.  Moms need to be included in the image with her children too!  Portrait sessions are a fantastic option for those mothers looking to have someone capture her with her kids so they can make memories together.

How to Prepare for the Mothers Day Photos Session

Preparation is key to ensuring a successful Mother's Day portrait session. Here are a few tips to make the process smooth and enjoyable:

Choosing Outfits

Selecting the right outfits can significantly impact the final results of your mommy and me portraits. Coordination is essential; matching or complementary colors can create a cohesive look. It is also essential to consider comfort. Choose outfits that allow freedom of movement, especially for little ones who might want to be playful during the session.

Setting Expectations

Before the session, discuss it with your child to set expectations. Explain what will happen, keeping it playful and exciting. You can even involve them in choosing poses or activities for the photoshoot, making it a fun experience. The more comfortable and excited they are, the more relaxed the session will be.

Bring Personal Touches

Consider including personal items that represent your family, such as a favorite toy, a book you read together, or even a small blanket. These items can add sentimental value to your mother’s day photos, conveying unique aspects of your relationship.

Treat Yourself to (or Gift!) Mommy and Me Portraits

Mother’s Day portrait sessions provide an excellent opportunity to celebrate motherhood and create treasured memories. They are a unique way to document the bond between mothers and their children through beautiful mommy and me photos. With the excitemint of your session, your family can capture stunning mommy and me portraits that highlight the love and connection you share.

As you plan your Mother’s Day celebrations, consider investing in a photo session that you can enjoy with your little ones. The joy in those portraits will not only be a delight for you today but will also serve as cherished memories to reflect upon for years to come.
